The Mehans

12/23 Last weekend's snow storm provided a great opportunity for Timothy to get out there, earn his keep and get the driveway cleaned off while Daddy hung out inside where it was nice and warm.
Well, after mommy intervened I decided I would do the snowblowing for him, at least this first time. But we did get him out there to enjoy his first snowfall. Here are a few pics:

After much torment and agony waiting for it to happen (and not just by his parents) Timothy finally popped through his first tooth. Front tooth, bottom right. I'd send along a picture, but it's not quite the easiest thing to capture. But mommy confirmed it this afternoon. Mommy was definitely pretty excited. I became more excited when I realized that once he gets a top tooth right above it, then I can use him to open beer bottles.

Darn you, Christmas Tree! This new jumper is preventing me from getting you this year (that and the fact that I can't walk yet) but next year you are mine. I shall topple you over, smash your pretty, pretty bulbs and when I'm done I'll floss my teeth with your tinsel. Sincerely, Timothy J. Mehan

12/8 Formal Pictures Timmy's 1/3 birthday as he turns 4 months old today.
A few weeks ago we ventured off to get some formal pictures done. They gave us a coupon at the hospital, which was incredibly nice of them considering we spent thousands of dollars at the hospital and the coupon saved us like $8.95 if we order a crapload of stuff we didn't want. But I digress...
Here are three of the pictures. I was hoping I would be the only in them, but apparently Chrissie thought it was important that her and Timothy were also included:
(The scanner was a bit off, so bear with us.)

12/1 Post Thanksgiving
We made it. Timothy's first Thanksgiving. We had a pretty busy few days. Started out on Wednesday when Adam met up with the Egan family for the traditional day-before-Thanksgiving golf outing with Dennis, Dennis Jr (still have trouble calling him Denny) and Stack. Final tally was a couple birdies, handful of pars, one flask of Irish Whisky and a couple cases of frostbite.
Thanksgiving Thursday had the Garthwaite clan over for dinner. (My Mom's side) We lost count, but I think it was somewhere in the low 20's for a final turnout. Low 20's was also the total pounds of Mashed Potato(e)s I ate that day. Good food, good times.
On Friday, Adam was stuck going to work for a few hours so Timmy and Mommy got to hang out a bit. Auntie Beck, (soon to be in a matter of months Uncle) Kevin and Grandpa Tom all where able to visit with Timmy during the day.
Saturday was Pierogi making day! Chrissie's family and long-time family friend Chet came over and we made hundreds and hundreds of hand-made Pierogi's. First year ever we topped 400 Pierogi! Of course, when I say "we", I really mean Chrissie's family. I spent most of my time breaking out the Christmas decorations. Knowing that I focused mostly on Christmas stuff and outside house work should bring a huge sigh of relief to anyone who might eat the pierogi's--knowing that I had very little interaction with them.
Sunday was also a packed day with a visit to Great Grandma Rose's in New Britain. We also got to hang out with Great Uncle Joe and Great Aunts Claire and Barb. From there, Timmy spent some quality time with Grandma Linda as Chrissie and Adam went to see the Trans Siberian Orchestra. Think of Christmas Carols but to Rock beats and you pretty much have their show. Sounds strange, but it was a good show--especially the second half when they just performed as a band and skipped the storyline. We finished off the evening with a stop at Black-Eyed Sally's Blues Bar where Adam thinks the food is decent and the music great and Chrissie thinks the food is great and music decent.

Wednesday 11/19
We made it! Mommy's first (full day) back to work was today. As you could have imagined, Timmy did much better than mom and dad.
So far, I'm 1 for 1 in remembering to pick him up after work.
Thanks Collette (and Hannah!) for a successful first day.

Friday 11/14
We just started adding a little cereal to Tim's diet. Actually, it's called cereal but it's so watered down it's barely much thicker than formula. But it's another big step for him.
Here's a picture of him "eating", though 1/2 winds up on his bib.
