Mehan's Blog Apr-Jun '09
Hi there!  Welcome to Mehan's World.  Or should it be Mehans' World?  In any case, I've made our blog the homepage since it's the most frequently updated, but don't forget to zip over to the "Home Page" and our other pages--especially if you are new to these parts.  I've also archived some of our other blogs so check them out too.

June 22nd.  I'm way, way behind here we go:

Of course, the main event:
The wedding of Rebecca and Kevin!!!

Here are a bunch of pictures...

And a video of them walking down the "aisle" (sorry a little cut off) as well as a brief video of sister Kate and her company Syren's dance toast.

Here are about a half-dozen random June pictures.  And also this one video showing Tim neatly putting stuff back into a drawer...unfortunately, they don't belong there.

On the 13th, we hung out with the Pruitte's at their awesome place in Douglas, MA.  Right on the water!  Always a fun time with Jack, Chris, Jenna, Paul, Linda and Mom, Dad and Timothy.  Check out these pics!

June 9th:

Whenever Timothy wakes up from a nap or bedtime, he usually is loud enough for us to come get him, but usually isn't very upset.  Assuming of course we get to him in a reasonable timeframe.  Once we get up there, he likes to just hang out for a couple more minutes in his crib before we pick him up.  Recently, he has taken to snuggling with his blankey.  Many times we will put it up on the railling and he will pull it down and snuggle it.  Here are a couple videos that capture him snuggle right after a nap.

And a quick video here.

Memorial Day:  Happy Memorial Day, everyone!

This weekend Grandpa Paul came over and helped mom and Timothy put together his very first swing set.  Here are a couple pictures:

Check out this video of him swinging

Also, by popular demand (or at least by both grandma's, here are a couple more videos of him using his walking toy.  (
Video 1 and Video 2)  He gets around pretty good with it now and as you can see, even can go around corners and when he gets stuck, he will turn it completely around.

May 18th:

Chrissie and I just got back from our 11th Anniversary Trip.  This year we went to Montreal, sans Timothy, for the weekend.
Apparently, Montreal is French for "It's 25 degrees colder than Connecticut, plus there's a lot more wind and it rained too".  We had a very good time, but both agreed we'd head someplace south next year.

We were able to take in some of the sites, sounds and eats of Montreal.  Highlighting the trip was the Cathedral of Notre Dame, Old Port and the underground mall.  We did go to Olympic Stadium but it was 50 degrees with a fierce wind so we didn't even get out of the car.

We took a few pictures you can check out on Shutterfly through this link.  Some cool shots inside Notre Dame as well as a few other touristy type shots.

Driving around Canada and going through Customs was no problem at all, except on the way back into the US when the Customs Agent (apparently seeing my license plate as I drove up) said to me as I got to his window "Are you the one they call Meatball?" with a straight face.  It was funny and kinda scary at the same time.

Grandma Linda and Grandpa Paul along with our friend Collette did a great job watching Timothy.  When we got back he crawled right over to us.  It was a great feeling seeing him not only recognize us right when we walked in, but also crawling the quickest I've seen him right over to us.  He also seems to be getting closer and closer to walking.  Check him out with his little walking toy here.

Okay, so I fell way, way behind in my updates.  Let's see if I can catch up a bit on our latest adventures...

First in mid-April, Chrissie, Timothy and Grandma Linda went out to Missouri to visit with Great Aunt Mary and to met Great Grandpa Bill for the first time.  Here the two of them share a laugh over breakfast...

We also brought Timothy a state of the art, top of the line, $10 Walmart plastic pool that he loves...

(Don't worry, although not in the frame, mommy and daddy weren't more than two feet from him!)

On April 26th, the three of us and Dennis, Kim and Matthew Egan all joined forces for the March for Babies walk in Harford.  Many thanks to all who sponsored us!!

Here's another one from Missouri showing his teeth!

Click here for a cute video of Timothy swinging.
And then click here to see a video of him in the pool.

And then finally he said his very first word in this video.  Unfortunately, we don't know what "Ishstch" means, but clearly he's just at a very advanced vocabulary.

Here are a couple more random pictures from late April/Early May:

Like many people, we were very curious to see how our pets would react to someone invading their home.  Especially now that Timmy is crawling around.

Here is a picture I took tonight of McGwire.  I really think he's coping quite well...

I mean aside from being flat on his back with his paws in the air, the Johnnie Walker Black bottle beside him, an empty flask and a used syringe, I think everything's pretty normal and he seems to have adjusted quite fine.

Welcome to April, or Month 8 of the Timmy Experiment.

He's crawling around pretty well these days.  And seems to be on the cusp of walking very soon, though we temper that by remembering that his father has been on the cusp of coolness for 30-something years and still hasn't made it there yet.

Anyhow, on with some new pictures:

Here he is checking out what we are calling a Easter Duck, though I'm not really sure what a duck has to do with Easter and why it appear like it just swallow Oprah Winfrey.  But it's soft so he likes it...

Here Timothy gets out his frustrations on Tickle Me Elmo.  I'm hoping this turns into a long career as a lunch money bully at recess so mom and I don't have to bother giving him his own lunch money.

Okay, so he really was laughing in that Elmo picture, but I'm trying to build up an image here, okay?

Here is a video of him with Elmo.  A few of you said the videos on the site were either very slow to load or didn't load at all so I've added them onto Youtube.  So click on this link.
